This is coming-of-age story of Lea Floris set in the Galberg in the Overberg region during the 1980s onwards. She is the daughter of two farm workers, Jakob and Dientjie. Lea longs to leave and start a life away from Galberg. One naïve decision changes the course of her life and eventually she runs away from her friends, family and everything she’s known. As die katjiepiering blom is a touching story of hope and a guardian angel or two.
